Alternative Energy Resources Renewable Energy Source

Alternate energy resources are being developed to compete against the fossil fuel power stations. Fossil fuel such as coal and oil are drilled and shoveled out of the ground and then processed to be turned into electricity. Problems with fossil fuels are that they produce hazardous air emissions and give off by-products that will harm the area. Some well-known alternate renewable energy resources are wind, solar, and hydro power. These are all sources that are in abundance and will be around for billions of years. Hydropower provides substantial amounts of electricity to the world by exploiting water, it totals about one fifth of the electricity worldwide (Renewable). While hydropower has its flaws, some environmentalists disclaim that hydropower is a widespread renewable energy source. However, this is a misconception because water is renewed in the water cycle, dams are environmentally sustainable to the ecosystem, and the only discharge from hydropower is unpolluted water. The idea of water not being renewable is preposterous. The water cycle is a process that always accounts for water. Water evaporates and goes back up as condensation and this creates clouds. Clouds then precipitate water, and the rainfall renews the water that will be used in dams. It is exceptional, compared to previous comprehensive tax reform measures, for not only addressing increasing taxes and making our tax system truly progressive, fair, simple, and robust, but also in making commitments to social protection and to allot additional revenue for infrastructure, education, health, and the like. Over the years, the Philippine tax structure has been described as unfair, corrupt, and complicated among other distressing adjectives. It cannot be denied that our tax laws and regulations are favorably tilted toward the tax authorities. Congress has put forth numerous bills and exchanged multiple arguments to revamp the prejudiced Tax Reform Act of 1997, but in December 2017 the Congress finally passed a new law that promised to change the lives of Filipino citizens no matter what state of living they currently belong to. In the old tax structure, those with an annual income of 10, 000 pesos are exempted from the income tax. But with the new tax reform, families with an annual taxable income of P250, 000 are exempted. Furthermore, bonuses and thirteenth-moth pay are tax-exempt if they amount to 90,000 pesos. Albeit the old tax code, sweetened beverages were not taxed, the TRAIN now imposes for caloric and non-caloric sweeteners to be charged P6.00 per liter while high-fructose corn syrups will be charged P12.00 per liter. Another commodity affected is fuel. While it is true that oil price hike is caused by an increase in demand, decrease in supply, or dictated by the global market, the TRAIN law imposes P1.50 charge per year for gasoline and P1.00-2.00 charge per year for diesel. Hawthorne perhaps chose this dark subject to convey his contempt for Puritanism. He was a man preoccupied with the hidden sin which is illustrated in not only the Scarlet Letter, but also in The Ministers Black Veil. One might even say that Hawthornes ancestry (Hathorne) is what he might consider his own Pearl, and this is why he changed his name. Like Millers the Crucible, The Scarlet Letter takes place in Puritan Salem and has a tragic hero, but these are the only similarities between the two great works. In Millers play, the tragic hero is John Proctor, a man whose pride causes the demise of many women, tried as witches. Had Proctor chosen to reveal his sin of lechery with Abigail Williams before the problem got out of hand, he wouldve saved several women from being hanged. But Proctor, instead chose to keep quiet about it until it was his own wifes destiny at stake, and then it was too late. In Hawthornes novel, The tragic hero is Dimmesdale, who wouldnt admit to being the father of Pearl. But Dimmesdales silence, and that of Hesters lead only to his own demise. Pearl went on to live a very productive life full of luxury, marrying nobility as well as inheriting riches of her own. A person reading Millers play and Hawthornes novel one right after the other might be tempted to say that the two are similar but this is very much a debatable subject. Although in both works, forbidden love is absolutely central to the plot, the actual concrete similarities beyond that are few. If these two works could be associated, one could associate any two works with a dead guy at the end and love society wont allow in the middle.
